In honor of Zoey’s 7th Birthday wanted to do kind of a 50’s pajama theme outfit. Instead of the pj shirt and pants (a la Cary Grant), went with little nightgowns. But with plenty of fabric left will prob make nightshirts.
Tulips and a raspberry cream cake make them look festive.
The plan:
The initial idea of lave trim only on the bottom turned out cute but a bit plain. And not worthy of a 7th birthday.
The materials:
- pink with gold crown cotton jersey
- gold trim
- pink lace
Zo had fun with lace.
After cutting out the pieces, sewed on the lace.
Sewed the gold trim on top of the lace.
Did the same to the back and sewed the two sides together.
Folded the top over about 3/4 inch to create the casing.
It is cute but a lil too plain for a birthday outfit.
Co looks very cute in it.
Some have suggested Co looks better in it than Zo. But I wouldn’t tell Zo that.
Made another dress with a little more detail and a longer front so it sits higher on the chest.
The one on the right is the updated one.
This fabric is cute but was difficult to deal with. Used an 80 jersey/ ball point needle but it ended up eating the fabric and got stuck in the sewing machine. Ended up with holes. After switching to a 70 needle, went a little easier.
Co looks very pretty in it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS ZO!
