Fascinators for dogs

The royal wedding is in a few weeks so have been trying to figure out fascinators for the dogs (and maybe me).

With the help of a low temp (only because I’m a bit scared of the high temp ones) hot glue gun and hair clips, these came together pretty easily and quickly.

The most difficult part of making a fascinator is coming up with a design.

Feathers?   Flowers?   Bows?   Headband?  Clip?  A pillbox hat?   There are too many options and once you start looking at Pinterest you end up more confused than ever.

Because these are for 2 small dogs, went with clips.    Easy to attach and remove and made for human hair so quite gentle.

Materials:

  • clips
  • hot pink tulle
  • pink ombré ribbon with wire
  • origami lotus
  • little dog charms (courtesy of the dogs’ Auntie K)

For Zoey’s, made a little pink tulle bow.

Cut a piece of ribbon so it can make the 2 rounded ends of a bow and glued to clip.

Glued the tulle bow and dog charm on top.

Coco oooks cute in it as well.

For Coco’s, made an origami lotus and a couple of tulle flowers.

The first lotus ended up being too big.

Looked up another tutorial that made the flower a bit smaller.

Could stack the two.

But it seemed a bit much.

Made two tulle flowers and stacked them so the same amount of tulle was even distributed.

Glued the clip to some ribbon and glued the tulle to the ribbon.

Glued the lotus and the dog charm.

I tried it out.   But glued the dog facing the wrong way.    If I were left handed it would be easier to put in my hair.

With her wind blown fur, Co looks fab.

😝

Zo tried it on as well.

Serious face.
