Having found white princessy fabric half off, decided to try to improve on this dress:
The materials:
- satin / damask with butterfly flower pattern
- pink lace
Co looking pretty in pink.
Not too fond of the white fabric; it is pretty but frays like crazy.
Last time wanted to make the front and back pieces a little longer so added about an inch beyond the pattern.
The opposite side of the white fabric is more pink and iridescent. Thought about making the skirt with the wrong side but decided against.
Gathered the skirt fabric and 2 layers of lace.
Wanted the shorter piece of lace to be right under the white fabric but basted them backwards so the shorter piece is on the bottom. Ugh.
Sewed the skirt to the bodice.
Added 1” by 5” straps.
Added pink snaps. Maybe the white ones would have been better…
Completed dress.
Trimmed the pink lace on the sides a little. They were dragging a bit.
The extra fabric really didn’t do much in the back. But could add more to the front part of the bodice.
The pink lace was a bit too much. Maybe in white it would have more of Spanish lace veil vibe.
A thin piece of white tulle gives it a bridal look.
But the pink is little too dark. Would prefer more of a blush or an ivory.
Coco looks cute in it as well.
Next time would the round the corners on the skirt. The right angle is too sharp with the soft flowiness of the dress.
